A 7.65mm DWM Luger Pistol with serial No.7xxx. Good bore with
strong lands. All numbers match with the exception of the extractor
and Magazine clip.

This pistol has a rust blue finish with strawed parts to the locking
bolt, trigger, magazine release and ejector. The L/h grip has a
v.small chip around the safety, which is not uncommon for a pistol
of this age.

This pistol has all the distinctive features of an early pistol 1920.
Sometimes known as the M/20 or M/23 (used with the Wooden
Stock-board) which can be held on a Section 7.3 U.K. Firearms
license. Allowing the pistol to be retained at the club and used
on the range by those who have a Section 7 Firearms Licence.

The frame is from an Artillery Luger (you can see the slot in the
front top, which would have housed the rear of the ramp sight.
The frame is stamped with a Crown over N. This a german "Nitro"
commercial proof mark found on lugers produced after 1920.

The barrel is what is commonly called a "1920 Commercial".
The reason for this is that immediately post war the German
government were forced under the treaty of versailles to
dispose of their 9mm pistols, so they rebarreled them in
the smaller 7.65mm parabellum and large numbers were
sold off to foreign governments.

A lovely clean pistol ideal as a collection piece or Sect.7.3
pistol. Over 85% blued finish and 65% straw to small parts.

Note: Sect 5 / UK Section 7.3 / Export License Required
