A Rare Early MAUSER C96 TRANSITIONAL LARGE RING HAMMER WITH MATCHING
WALNUT SHOULDER STOCK.

SN 12359. Cal. 7.63 mm. Standard configuration, Early Transitional Large
Ring hammer, largely made from Cone-hammer components, with 5.5″ bbl
frosted bore (not uncommon for a pistol of this era) with strong visible lands
& pinned 50-500m rear sight. Long extractor and separately retained firing pin.
Standard 3-line chamber address with Crown/Crown U proofing on left side of
chamber flat and antler acceptance on right side. Full SN on back of frame under
locking lever with the full number or last few digits repeated on the rear sight
components, including the, bolt stop, firing pin retainer, firing pin and hammer.
Disassembly shows a matching floorplate and follower. All sub-frame components
matching, as does the locking block. Original grips, each grip panel marked with
the full SN. Lanyard ring present. Major components rust blued. Extractor,
components of rear sight, bolt stop, firing pin retainer and grip screw fire-blued.
Grey hammer. Trigger polished bright. Complete with original matching shoulder stock.

PROVENANCE: The CMR Firearms Collection – Great Britain. CONDITION: Pistol with
approximately95 -/+ orig rust blue. Comparable condition of small parts throughout
including the fire-blue rear sight slider. Grips are in excellent unmarked condition
last 4 digits of the serial number have been added to the L/H Upper Grip.

Shoulder Stock
Condition of the matching numbered shoulder Stock is excellent with a lovely rich
walnut wood grain colour with no signs of hairline cracks as often encountered with
most original C96 Pistol stocks. The Stock hinge plate and other metal components
are richly blued showing very little wear.

This is a very unique pistol of the highest collectors grade possible.
