Pistol with matching shoulder Stock and all matching part numbers. Approximately 90 percent
plus original blue & straw remaining. Date of manufacture 1911. Matching numbered Walnut 32
lines grips in v.g.c.. Walnut Stock has a fine hairline crack showing
an early professional repair
reinforced by means of a brass Maple leaf shaped clasp. Shoulder
Stock is marked with the
intials G.J. 0/16 with an unsual symbolic Squared Cross on the lid.
The Union of South Africa, which came into being in 1910, tied closely to the British Empire,
automatically
joined Great Britain and the allies against the rising German Empire. A interesting
example of a nicely
preserved pre-war commercial owned by a German Mining Employee travelling
between Germany & South Africa between 1910 and the outbreak of WW1.
Supplied with a "London Proof House Certificate". Deactivated to a very high standard enabling as
many working parts as the law allows.
