Lid spring retains the pistol in position when being carried in the stock.
Prevents internal movement of the pistol safeguarding and helps prevent
wear to the bluing on the main frame of the pistol. Most original stocks we
see nowadays have tired worn lid springs which need replacing preventing
unnecessary wear to pistol rattling in the stock when being used or carried.
