Mauser Broomhandle C96 Pistol Shoulder Stock.
Original Small Ring Hammer WW1 Wartime issue Mauser Walnut Shoulder
stock. Metal Work is good and retains 80% -/+ original bluing.
A fine 1.5"inch hairline crack runs down from the hinge plate (which is
not uncommon for a pistol of the era).
The lid shows signs of a very early arsenal repair professionally repaired
and has a few very minor hairline cracks just barely visible with the
eye - but not making the stock unstable in anyway. The wood has very
few dings and has been well maintained cared for in its earlier life.
On the outside rear face of the lid the wood is Unit marked possibly
to a WW1 Air Boat Crew or Air ship or possibly early U.Boat Crew.
The metal hardware (stock iron, hinge-plate,latch screw & button)
all retain much original nitre / rust-blue. The stock iron is numbered 743.
