by NCOs and shock troops, and were also produced for other countries like Bulgaria, Russia,
Turkey, Persia, Venezuela, Abyssinia, Romania, and Switzerland.

Drum & Loading Tool
Early model Drum Mags were carried in a Canvas type Bag & worn from the belt. The Canvas
bag was later superseded by a more robust leather Trommel Magazine Carrier worn from the
belt or together with the shoulder strap. The 32 round 9mm Snail drum needed a special tool
to load the magazine which was called the (Trommel Magazin) Snail drum Loading Tool. The
tool was carried separately worn either from the belt with a strap that passes diagonally over
the right shoulder or via the shoulder-strap which is secured to the Belt (similar to the Sam
- Browne Belt and Cross Strap).
The Loading Tool Pouch was issued with 4 Compartments which held 4 Specific essential tools :
1 x LP08 Trommel Magazine Loading Tool ("Schneckentrommel-Ladewerkzeug")
1 x LP08 Rear Adjustable fine sight Adjusting tool.
1 x LP08 Pistol Stripping/Loading tool.
1 x 10rnd Luger Pistol Magazine.
