LP08/MP18 Bergmann Snail drum magazine dust cover.

1st/2nd Model Luger Artillery Snail drum (Trommel) Magazin Dust
cover cap. Issued with each magazine to prevent dust and other
particles from entering the loading tube.

Due to its size many were lost making them rarer than the drum itself.

Important Note: The cover also prevents accidental damage to the
very tempremental follower, which if damaged (not protected)
can cause feeding and jamming problems.

Note: The attached photo demonstrates the dust cover fitted to the drum magazine.
