Russian WW1 Solberg M1917 Steel Helmet of the Tsarist Army.

The Czarist army had ordered in France 2 million Adriane model M1916
helmets, but only 340,000 were delivered. Thus, it was decided in 1917
to produce their own helmets the model 1917 Solberg. This helmet was
used by both sides of the "White Czarist" Russians and "Communist Red
Brigades" due to the revolution of 1917. It is estimated that only about
20,000 of these helmets were produced in total. The largest part remained
in Finland and was used there until the 40s.

The helmet we are offering still has about 98% of the original Russian colour
and the czarist iron embossed helmet emblem attached by cotter pins, as it
was worn on the French Adriane M1916 helmet. The coarse linen lining
attached to corrugated metal strips, similar to the French pattern style.
Complete with the original leather chinstrap.

An extremely rare helmet. This helmet has been in a collection for over
20 years and was purchased by the Dresden Army Museujm and is now
being offered for the first time.
